Tourism: River Safari in Singapore

If you don't already know, River Safari is Asia's First and ONLY River-Themed Wildlife Park! Located right beside Zoo, it is one GREAT option for any family looking for a FANTASTIC outing! In fact, you should bring your adventurous loved one for a romantic date at this beautiful place.

Of course, it is also where my favourite Jia Jia and Kai Kai's resting at!

Look at the breathtaking view!

Don't be surprised to see eagles flying about, they're actually eyeing their prey. There are swamps nearby which is potential feeding ground for these eagles.

Tip #1: Make reservations for viewing time for the Giant Panda Forest.
This is Jia Jia, which never stops eating bamboo. If you're lucky, you get to see both Jia Jia and Kai Kai together, which is definitely a rare occurrence because Kai Kai is a rather shy Panda.

You can also find the Red Panda in the Giant Panda Forest. The red panda, or lesser panda, is actually said to be the original panda. In fact, it had been discovered above 50 years before Jia Jia's and Kai Kai's species. Due to the bright rusty-coloured furry coat and fox-like face, one can't wondering, "What does the fox say?" Well, if you would really want to find out, head over to River Safari's Giant Panda Forest for the solution to the infamous song!

The red panda is also slightly larger the size of a domestic cat, and shares similar traits with the giant panda. They have extra 'thumbs' to hold their food, interesting eh?

Tip #2: Walk along the Yangtze River for fearsome exhibits.
Look out for the Chinese alligator, one of the world's rarest crocodilians found around the Yangtze river. Although it looks similar to the American alligator, it is smaller in size, just how Chinese people are smaller in size as compared to the Americans. The Chinese alligator is fully armed with bony plates, protecting its belly as well as its upper eyelids.

Tip #2: Spot the Crab-eating Macaque at the Mekong River!
This cute primate is found throughout Southeast asia, living in groups of 5 to 60. Usually, they are found picking fleas from each other's back. I saw a really adorable family taking turns to help each other. They feed on a variety of fruits, insects, eggs, leaves and even clay and bark. Don't be surprised if you see them tearing trees apart.

River Nile: Giraffe Catfish

Tip #3: Be early for each animal show!
There are also daily informal animal shows. There are no amphitheatre there, hence you can really get upclose with the animals. However, do be there early as it is usually packed full and you have to either stand or sit on the floor!

Tip #4: You get to take pictures up-close with the animals after the end of each show.

There is also a huge aquarium where you feel a sense of peace and serenity just by looking at the fishes swimming in it!

And the sun rays that shine through the waters... it just warms my heart.
